Assessment of data assets and business impact analysis
The purpose of data asset assessment is to provide a transparent and easy-to-manage inventory of data and data connections used in individual business areas, the mapping of which reveals the eventual shortcomings of the data management system as well as the real value of managed data.
Results from the assessment of data assets and business impact analysis:
- Registering data management activities related to personal data under GDPR requirements
- Data asset inventory
- Process registry – data circuit matrix
- Service catalog
- Business impact analysis
The assessment of personal data stored in electronic information systems and on paper is suitable for screening the current implementation of data management procedures. Furthermore, we are able to raise awareness among the employees of the company about the importance of the adequate handling of personal data, adherence to storage times, limiting access and compliance with further regulatory requirements.
During the assessment of personal data, the fulfillment of basic conditions of data processing as required by law is also examined.
Based on the results of the assessment, the company can begin to carry out further data management tasks in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements (“Act CXII of 2011 on the Right of Informational Self-Determination and on Freedom of Information”; REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL – The General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR).
The creation of a data asset inventory is an excellent tool for organizations to assess the value represented by the data, to reveal the vulnerabilities and weak points in the data management process and to prepare a business impact analysis.
